The WSOP 2010 event list refers to a few changes, for example, the $50.000 H.O.R.S.E event has been substituted with the $50,000 “Player’s Championship” (Event #2), featuring eight distinctive poker games (Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball).

The first 5 weekends of the series (May 29-30, June 5-6, June 12-13, June 19-20 and June 26-27) will include $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournaments with two starting flights. In addition, a sixth schedule of events on July 1-2, will also present the same event at the same buy-in level. The 41st annual WSOP 2010 will close on Monday, July 5th with the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship Main Event. The Main Event will take some time off on July 17th, and will continue on four months later with the “November Nine” final table running from November 6th-9th

Other variations announced for the World Series of Poker include several new rules that will standardize the daily amount of play, and the addition of more poker tables. According to the World Series of Poker 2010 website, the entire convention center of the Rio will be devoted to the 2010 World Series of Poker, with tournament tables in the 58,000 square foot Pavilion and the 38,000 square foot Amazon Room.

The World Series of Poker 2010 is also giving players more than five months to sign-up for the first event on the World Series of Poker 2010 schedule. Pre-registration for the World Series of Poker 2010 is accessible at the Main Cage of the Rio and online at the World World Series of Poker 2010 website. Sign-up for all bracelet events will stay open until the start of the third level (approximately 2 hours, 20 minutes after start time) or until all seats are sold.

“Whatever your game and whatever your bankroll, the 2010 WSOP schedule offers something for everyone. We are planning for the largest WSOP ever and look forward to welcoming all players to the Rio in Las Vegas next summer.” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel.

Full Tilt Poker to Host Largest Online Poker Tournament in the World

Posted under Poker & online poker & poker event & texas hold em

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

FullTiltPoker.com launches new “Durrrr Challenge” Info page

Posted under Poker & online poker & poker event & poker tournament

FullTiltPoker.com has just launched a brand new informative site covering all the action of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an incredible online heads up tournament involving some of the finest big money poker players taking on the Heads Up Specialist Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The new website section gives poker players and followers the chance to stay on top of this historical online poker challenge and check out timely updates. With this innovative “durrrr heads up Challenge” portal fans can track all the details and look at each poker hand played during this poker challenge, and look at lots of stats, including how many hands were played, time of session, cash won, average won during each hand and lots more.

Close to six months ago, the 23 year old online poker phenomenon dealt out a heads-up poker challenge for any poker player with the cash, time and talent to accept it. Any player entering the poker challenge has to bet $500,000 against durrrr’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge states that at least 50,000 hands need to be played simultaneously at 4 or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the poker challenge, the poker player who has more cash will secure the pool. Basically if you enter the Full Tilt Challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 hands, then you will take home durrrr’s $1.5 Million, but if he succeeds by a dollar then he will take your $500,000.

So far, several poker players have accepted to play the “durrrr challenge”, including WSOP Champ Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, but, only Patrick Antonius has accepted the challenge. Thus far, both poker players have completed in a total of 20,647 poker hands out of 50,000, with Tom durrrr Dwan ahead $726,546 total.
