Full Tilt Poker to Host Largest Online Poker Tournament in the World

Posted under Poker & online poker & poker event & texas hold em

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Poker Investigation Story will be featured on TV

todd witteles
On Sunday, November 30th the CBS network will show their special program “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special was made after a 16-week study into the online poker business and in particular a deceitful scandal in relation to the online Texas Hold’em website Absolute Poker.

This Texas Hold’em room was examined after a number of the poker players on the site said that a player was unlawfully winning an incredible amount of cash. Todd Witteles was a major witness in this research, according to Witteles; he was losing incredible amounts of cash to the very same Texas Hold’em poker player. Witteles declared that this man was raising against extremely good cards, the majority of people would have guessed he was basically giving his money away, but he was incredibly winning money.

Witteles was correct with his suppositions, further down the line it was exposed that a player with knowledge of the site was able to spy on any player’s hole cards. At first glance, Absolute Poker claimed that nothing was wrong with the page or the Texas Hold’em poker player. After many more players showed up with charges of fraud, the poker website investigated further into the cheating problem and made the discovery.

In Jan. of this year, the KGC uncovered what the poker players and the poker website had supposed all along. As it turns out, there was a worker who had invaded the Texas Hold’em poker page’s protection and was competing illegally for more or less six weeks. The study proved that the Texas Hold’em webpage had not gained from the dishonest transactions by any means, and was in no way engaged in the activities.

These issues are further testimony that there should be more regulation regarding online gambling pages. The United States government should authorize and legalize the internet gambling industry to protect these upright clients. These laws would also control the admission to these sites by children, which is turning into another issue these days.

Poker News » A Few tips for fooling your poker competition

Posted under Poker & poker bluff & texas hold em

poker
A vital aspect in the game of poker is fooling your competitors by making them think you actually have a good hand, when the truth is it is most likely you have a terrible hand. This is referred to as “Poker face”, an expressionless face for tricking your poker buddies into buying an idea that may not be true.

If you have a good hand it is most likely going make you feel more anxious, could possibly cause your hands to shake, and your heartbeat race. The previous symptoms are signs that your opponents may notice very fast, especially if they know you well. Keep in mind not to look at the pot if you are holding a strong hand. This will show your competition that you are, in your mind, counting how much you will possibly win.

In the condition where you have a god-awful poker hand, try not to keep yourself from glancing at your poker buddies, don’t lower your head, and don’t be indecisive about your bet. In the event that you can prove to yourself that your set of cards is just as good, or better than your poker buddies; you will possibly fool them into believing this as well. Remember to keep this as natural-looking as possible. Your gestures and motions could be saying one thing, while what you are saying are giving them a whole different idea.

Another key to Texas Hold Em is to be attentive to your opponent’s “poker tells”. A “tell” is any kind of expression, physical gesture, or habit that may give you an idea of the type of Texas Hold Em hand they are holding. One basic rule to keep in mind is when your competitor appears as if he has a good poker hand; he, most likely, has a very weak hand. On the other side of the coin, if he acts as though his hand is poor, he most likely has a very good hand.
